Master Clear Reset (through Menu)
Select Reset options --> Factory data reset --> Reset phone --> Erase Everything
Verify the device begins to reset.
Wait until the device returns to the "Welcome" screen before powering off the device.  Hold down the Power Key and select Power Off when prompted.
